Networked applications are becoming more numerous and versatile. In many cases, the basic scheme of operation is a series of scripts that govern the behavior of a database.
Due to the diversity of languages and databases, how to communicate between each other would be really difficult to manage but for the existence of standards that allow us to perform the basic operations of a universal form.
Is that what is the Structured Query Language which is nothing more than a standard language of communication with databases. We speak therefore of a standardized language that allows us to work with any language (ASP or PHP) in combination with any type of database (MS Access, SQL Server, MySQL ...).
That standard is not to say that is the same for each database. Indeed, certain databases implement specific functions are not necessarily work in others.
Beyond this universality, the SQL has two other highly valued characteristics. On the one hand, power and versatility presents a remarkable contrast, on the other, learning accessibility.
